Who You Choose To Be Matters
Wisdom or Folly? Justice or Injustice? Temperance or Intemperance? Courage or Cowardice?
Why some people achieve greater success than we do? Do they possess any magical power that makes success comes to them that easily and effortless? We always think that everyone's life is easy except ourselves, as if everything is against us and we don't deserve to be rewarded. We complain about this and that, never realizing that we are the one problematic.
People choose to do the right thing, they let the four Stoic virtues guide their life. They practice wisdom, justice, temperance and courage in their life. They can differentiate what is in their control and what's not in their control. Take Tom Brady for example, he knows that he can practice over and over again to maximize his performance on the field. He also knows that what's not in his control like the weather and humidity that day. He can't change the fact that the field may be slippery when it's raining during game day, but he can control the way he adapts his playstyle that day to bring victory for his team.
It doesn't just apply to athlete or any highly successful entrepreneurs like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, it applies to every single one of us living in planet Earth.
Learn what is in our control, and what's not in our control. Understand this and you will find strength in life.
Are you then willing to take up Stoicism to let it guide you through your life?
